Healing via Food Pantries

The coronavirus is taking a mental health toll on people. The multiple effects of the pandemic, which are being experienced by everyone, are highly stressful. This stress can lead to depression, domestic abuse, addiction issues and so much more. These impacts can be long lasting and very costly in many ways.

One stress for many people, especially those who have lost their jobs, is the daily concern of not knowing how they will pay for food. The heroic work of the folks who keep the food pantries operating does more than just feed people’s stomachs. By providing a reliable source of food, the pantries help alleviate some of the other issues as well by lowering the stress levels.

By donating or volunteering, we have the opportunity to help heal our communities in multiple ways. The benefits can be long lasting and very cost-effective in many ways.
